What is Shoot Great Pictures?
Shoot Great Pictures is a place where you will find a lot of resources that will help you get better at photography or even start your way in photography if you’re new to this exciting domain.
You’ll gain access to a variety of tutorials, basic knowledge, advanced tips and even software that is not available any elsewhere such as the ground-breaking Photo Stacker which brings software photo stabilization to your non-stabilized lenses making your photos look crystal-clear.
Who am I ?
My name is Alex Tuduran. I’ve created this website out of passion to sum up all my knowledge and everything I will discover about photography that I could possibly share with you.
This website would not exist if some important persons in my life would not insist that I should absolutely do this. Therefore I take this opportunity to thank them.
Photography is one of my greatest passions, but I also like to take a look at things from an engineering angle, usually a very in-depth, technological one. Perhaps because I’m a programmer too.
How could that help your photography? In many ways. For instance, I write my own photo software whenever I feel the need. And sometimes the need is there. Let me share that kind of stuff with you.
What about my photography skills?
Although some would insist, I am not a photographer.
You will not see me at weddings or other type of events, shooting professionally. I don’t do this for a living and I’m rather an engineer than an artist when it comes to photography.
I have a fairly good understanding of the technical aspects of photography. I think I know the technology behind the products pretty well. That could help you answer some of your questions you had about your gear.
Will this site help you create better photos?
While the content here will probably not make you a better artist because that’s not the goal of the website, understanding the technology around your gear and the theoretical aspects of photography will most likely make the difference between failure and success.
Without exact technical knowledge, you may be successful from time to time, but you will not exactly know why you were successful, hence not be able to produce good results consistently.
So yes, the knowledge here will help you create better photos, at least from a technical stand point. Knowing your tool’s strengths and limitations will add substantial value to your photography skills.
How you’re going to use this knowledge and what artistic paths you take, it’s entirely up to you. For instance, I like product photography because it demands absolute superior quality in every aspect and portraiture because of it’s simplicity.

Some final thoughts
So you have a camera and want to improve your photos. Perhaps you feel a bit photo-demotivated and maybe lost some of that drive that you had when you first got your camera. Or maybe you don’t have your camera yet, but want to get prepared before digging in your pocket.
Either way, you came to the right place. Soon we’ll clarify all the technical aspects of photography and then you’ll be able to fully focus on your art.
I’m sure you already have a lot of unanswered questions or curiosities of some sort regarding photography. Send me your thoughts or perhaps just a subject you want to find out more about. I’ll make sure you get your answers.
